Biography at time of election

Sir Rod Eddington AO has built on an outstanding education in engineering and a Rhodes Scholarship to become one of Australia's most accomplished and influential industry and business leaders. He is the inaugural chair of Infrastructure Australia, the body established by Government to guide investment of billions of public and private dollars into the nation's transport, energy, water and communications infrastructure. Sir Rod Eddington has an international reputation in this area, having been commissioned by the British Government to study and report on links between transport and the economy. He has a distinguished record of leadership in industry, including CEO of British Airways and Cathay Pacific Airways, and board roles with Qantas, Ansett, Rio Tinto, JP Morgan and News Corporation. He has been honoured with the awards of Knight Bachelor and Officer in the Order of Australia, and is a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society. ATSE is currently collaborating with Infrastructure Australia.
