Dr John O'Sullivan's innovation, research and leadership in wireless technologies and networking has impacted on the global use of computers, the internet and how we work through a patented invention that has now been incorporated in more than a billion devices produced world-wide. The financial impact of this invention has been significant for Australia, CSIRO and for future education and research through Science and Industry Endowment Fund (SIEF) grants and scholarships. He has also made significant contributions to radio astronomy instrumentation that have impacted on the operation of radio telescopes as well as new telescope development.
