Mr Hamish Tyrwhitt is an accomplished civil engineer with 27 years, experience in the construction industry. He is Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Leighton Holdings, an international contractor operating in more than 20 countries, and the world?s largest contract miner. The Leighton Group employs more than 50,000 people. He previously led Leighton Asia Limited which covered operations in Mongolia, The Philippines, Hong Kong, Malaysia and India. Earlier in his career he led the establishment of mining sites in Kalamantan and the Gobi Desert in Mongolia where he successfully overcame extreme challenges of environment and poor availability of services.
