Dr. Zongli Xie leads membrane and catalysis technology R&D projects for major national firms like Orica, South East Water, Alcoa, and over 20 Australian SMEs. She fosters translational research from the lab to commercialisation, initiating projects on industrial emission control, wastewater treatment and water recycling. Her innovative environmental catalyst formulation and novel scalable catalyst synthesis process to abate N2O and NOx pollution from industrial emission resulted in a PCT patent as the first inventor for “Low-temperature denitration catalyst” and scale-up production of ~100 kg catalyst for a successful commercial trial in Orica’s nitric acid production facilities.
