Prof Zaiping Guo is a world-leader in battery technology who has made significant breakthroughs in achieving safe, long life, and high energy batteries. She is a pioneer in developing sodium/potassium ion and zinc ion battery technologies to enable storage of renewable energy at grid-scale, and to achieve a stable and reliable power grid. Her globally patented silicon-composite anode technology for lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) has been licenced to Sydney-based Sicona Battery Technologies, for electric vehicle technology. Her patented technologies on non-flammable electrolytes for LIBs, Zinc ion battery, and battery recycling, have been licenced to londrive Technologies in Western Australia for commercialization.
