Prof Sally McArthur has successfully commercialized multiple cutting edge technologies that have led to significant advances in medical and biomedical applications. She started her career at CSIRO contributing to the development of the extended wear contact lens technology that led to a market penetration of over 35% and a significant (>$13M) royalty stream for both CSIRO and UNSW when the technology was licensed to Ciba Vision. This set the scene for her career with a consistent focus on excellent fundamental research and its translation to end use leading to a commercial product in the market.
