Dr Green has extensive experience and many notable achievements
in science and technology.

His experience includes pure and applied research, management of a high technology consultancy company, and the development of national science and technology policy.

Following research in gamma-ray spectrometry and then in optical communication systems, Dr Green was
appointed the first General Manager of WAIT-AID Ltd and established a
thriving business based on activities in most of the Western Australian Institute of Technology (WAIT) disciplines.

However, it is perhaps as Secretary to the Australian Science and Technology Council (ASTEC) that Dr Green made his most significant contribution to science and technology in Australia. ASTEC' s achievements. over the past six years are well known as also is the substantial part which Dr Green, and the Secretariat under his direction have played in ASTEC's success.
