Dr Bray is Chief of CSIRO Marine Research, Australia's most important marine research agency. Previously Director of the Physical Oceanography Division of the Scripps Institute of Oceanography in California, one of the world's premier marine research institutions, she has a distinguished international reputation as a scientist and scientific manager concerned to encourage excellent science and technology. In her short time in Australia she has developed important and strong multi-organizational interactions that enhance efficient use of scarce resources for national benefit.
