Ian Oppermann has contributed to the core technology base of broadband wireless communications systems, and to the collaborative evolution and business deployment of mobile communications globally. He is recognised as someone who combines technical depth with business experience. He has used this combination of skills in his roles in leading CSIRO?s initiatives in information and communications technologies (ICT), and in driving the formation of CSIRO?s new flagship in Digital Productivity and Services. He has been an active initiator of national collaborative initiatives in ICT-based innovation and a strong contributor to university, industry and government advisory bodies.
