Prof. Wallace's research has led to the development of electrofunctional materials that can be designed, processed and fabricated into a variety of devices that utilise the change in chemical and physical properties in response to a variety of external environmental stimuli to deliver innovative solutions in areas as diverse as health, biosensing, textiles and minerals processing. Major contributions have been made to the realisations of working devices based on these materials through the development of innovative methods of synthesis, processing and in-situ characterisation that have facilitated the early adoption of the technology and established world leadership in the field.
