Professor Andrew Campbell divides his time between Canberra and his family farm in western Victoria. Among influential roles in sustainable agriculture and research management in Australia, Andrew Campbell was Australia's first National Landcare Facilitator, and CEO of Land & Water Australia from 2000. He concluded a 7-year term as CEO of the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR) in 2023, followed by an interim role leading the global CGIAR network. Andrew is a Director of AgriFutures Australia, Professorial Fellow in the ANU Fenner School and Patron of Landcare in Victoria.

Andrew Campbell is an international as a leader in natural resources and agricultural development. He is a considered and highly successful advocate for the use of scientific knowledge and systems approaches in the land and water management. For over 30 years he has shaped research, application and policy development in Australia, and provided innovative leadership to key organisations such as Land and Water Australia and ACIAR. He was instrumental in the creation of Bushcare and Landcare and has personally contributed substantial original contributions to Australia?s knowledge of land, water and biodiversity.
