ATSE commends the NSW Government for beginning the development of a NSW Advanced Manufacturing Industry Development Strategy, and supports many of its key findings.
ATSE endorses the Strategy’s proposed change to the definition of advanced manufacturing. Concentrating on how companies produce goods rather than what is being produced is a significant and positive change, as it acknowledges the importance of industry advancement to all manufacturing businesses and not just sub-sectors such as medical devices and aerospace.
ATSE’s key recommendations for the NSW Strategy include:
