Leading technologists and engineers recognised for outstanding achievements in 2024 Honours
ATSE is thrilled to celebrate the exceptional achievements of our Fellows who have been recognised in today’s 2024 Honours.
The Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering (ATSE) is thrilled to celebrate the exceptional achievements of our Fellows who have been recognised in today’s 2024 Honours.
This year, nine Fellows have been honoured for their significant contributions across the fields of science, technology, and engineering, including two Fellows who have received the highest honour.
Catherine Brighid Livingstone AC FTSE FAA and Emeritus Professor David Vernon Boger AC FRS FTSE FAA have been awarded Companion of the Order of Australia, an honour of the highest degree for service to Australia or humanity at large.
ATSE President Dr Katherine Woodthorpe AC FTSE said, “On behalf of ATSE, I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to all our Fellows honoured today. Their unwavering commitment to advancing technology and engineering has not only propelled Australian innovation forward, it has made a global impact. These honours are a testament to their dedication and exceptional contributions to our society.”
Other recognised Fellows include the late Robin King AO FTSE, who was a central figure in ATSE’s New South Wales Division, and is recognised for his distinguished service to engineering and to tertiary education. Dr Cynthia Mitchell AO FTSE was also recognised, having made significant contributions to the environment through water resource sustainability as an innovator, leader and academic.
“Recipients come from all parts of the country. They have served and had an impact in just about every field you can imagine; their stories and backgrounds are diverse. We value their service, thank them for their hard work and selflessness and, today, celebrate them,” said the Governor-General.
