Director of the University of Western Australia's Institute of Agriculture, Prof Siddique is a renowned agricultural scientist, having dedicated more than 35 years to research, training, technology exchange and industry development. He is an outstanding ambassador for WA and UWA, promoting sustainable agriculture and addressing global food security through his prolific research output, leadership, and collaboration. Professor Siddique has been listed in two categories on the Clarivate List of Highly Cited Researchers and has been recognised in The Australian newspaper’s Research Magazine as a “Top Researcher” Australia in Botany (2021 & 2022).
Professor Siddique is recognised globally for his outstanding contributions to agricultural domains. His crop adaptation, physiology, genetics, agronomy and farming research have boosted cereal and grain legume production in dryland environments. His numerous publications, fellowships and awards, including several highly cited papers, reflect his research excellence.
Professor Siddique aims to solve real problems through meticulous scientific research methodology, collaboration, and postgraduate training directly relevant to national and international researchers, producers, and communities.
