ATSE Fellows recognised in 2025 Honours List
Four of Australia’s most eminent technology innovators have been recognised in today’s 2025 Honours, shining a light on their lifelong contribution to Australian society.
Four of Australia’s most eminent technology innovators have been recognised in today’s 2025 Honours, shining a light on their lifelong contribution to Australian society.
These Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering (ASTE) Fellows have been appointed to the Order of Australia for their services to innovation and invention in Australia, changing the way we think about energy, manufacturing, health and manufacturing. Their research and inventions are world-leading and have changed the way we treat diseases and generate power using the sun and recycle our electronic waste.
ATSE congratulates these four Fellows on their exceptional achievements and applaud the diverse ways in which their work has made a positive impact on the lives of Australians.

They have my heartfelt congratulations and deserve to be recognised for the innovative work that has made a difference not only to Australians but to people all over the world. Our ATSE Fellows honoured today are:
· Emeritus Professor Andrew Blakers, a co-inventor of the PERC solar cell that is in use in more than half of all solar panels worldwide;
· Professor Bronwyn Fox, an expert on carbon fibre and composite materials, and a long-term leader in research and development;
· Scientia Professor Veena Sahajwalla, an innovator and inventor of green manufacturing and waste recycling techniques for a new generation of sustainable materials; and
· Adjunct Professor Craig Rayner, a leading authority on drug development and medical treatments for a wide range of illnesses.
