Lab Tour

STEM teachers and educators are invited to the Bioprocessing at the School of Chemical Engineering. The School of Chemical Engineering investigates how novel biopharmaceuticals such as vaccines and monoclonal antibody to treat cancer and autoimmune diseases can be manufactured in a more efficient and cost-effective way.

The research involves next generation biomanufacturing, vaccine platform development, stability studies and fundamentals in various aspects, combining biotechnology and chemical engineering.  The tour will give an overview on how modern biotherapeutics are being manufactured and how engineering can help to make those expensive drugs more accessible and safer for the patients.

Attendees are required to wear enclosed shoes and follow instructions from The University of Adelaide staff.
