Opportunities and challenges in the QLD Energy Roadmap
Join the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering (ATSE) and Queensland Governement for a roundtable on the opportunities and challenges in the Queensland Energy Roadmap.
The Queensland Energy Roadmap, released late last year, contains a range of initiatives proposed by the State Government to meet the energy needs of people and industry in the most cost-effective manner over coming decades whilst remaining committed to the net zero carbon emissions target by 2050. The initiatives cumulatively represent a significant change to the direction of energy investment and infrastructure. Leveraging the opportunities and challenges brought by the change to business as usual will provide substantial benefit to Queensland.
This seminar, sponsored by the University of Queensland, is a roundtable discussion arranged by ATSE with key government, industry and academic representatives to discuss technical, engineering and commercial aspects of the Roadmap. The key outcome for government will be to have ATSE Fellows freshly appraised of issues important for delivering the roadmap, aligning research programs to support the roadmap, and delivering understanding at a Board level to many contributing businesses.
