Australia’s energy transition – Are renewables up for the challenge?

A secure, low-cost power supply is critical to our economy, standard of living and international competitiveness. The Australian Energy Marketing Operator (AEMO) is currently leading the charge in planning Australia’s transition to new power grids. Utilising battery, solar and wind energy, the end goal is to reach net zero emissions.

This transition will not be a simple task. Energy experts have expressed concerns that the AEMO Integrated System Plan (ISP) may encounter difficulties, leading to serious power failures and increased costs to consumers on our East Coast power grid.

With ATSE calling for a target of net zero by 2035, failure to transition Australia’s energy system is not an option.

This event will bring together leaders in renewable energy to examine the progress of Australia’s renewable transition, discuss Australia’s ambitions, and understand AEMO’s plans for emerging renewable technologies.
